Hailing from Evanston, IL, Meredith studied classical violin with Ingrid Nevinger of Chicago, IL from elementary school through high school, and continued her studies with Dr. Melissa Knecht at Hillsdale College. Her college studies were focused on romantic and early 20th century violin works by Wieniawski, Kreisler, Smetna, and R. Vaughn-Williams. She has also immersed herself in the world of Irish Traditional music, being self-taught for the past 6 years, as well as learning tunes and technique under New York Sligo-style fiddler Tony DeMarco.
Meredith graduated from Hillsdale College with a B.A. in Fine art and Music, and received her MFA from the New York Academy of Art. She can be heard at various Irish music sessions around the city, as well as on stage with down-tempo trip-hop group Cabiria, the Staten-Island based irish-rock band A Band of Rogues, and the New Jersey-based eclectic rock group BuzzUniverse at venues and festivals throughout the northeast and midwest, and with the alt-country group The Roadside Poets.
Previous projects include post-rock band Seraphim/The Eastern Gate, and Taliesin Ceili band. Meredith has performed on stage as a guest artist with Michigan based bands The Narrows (indie/psychedelic rock) and Braithres na Mara (irish), and with the Chicago based roots/R&B/rockabilly band The Howlin’ Tumbleweeds.
